A lot of truth to this. Has likely been true with technology for generations. For my parents it was television. But were are so intertwined in it. Even this podcast. How do you listen to it if not on technology? New tech as helped to advance the gospel but also destroy lives. Is it like guns? Is it the tech or is it us? I imagine in the time of Paul, his mom and dad may have worried about his travel and use of Roman roads, new technology, both with opportunity and risks around each bend.

*Here is how you know from the Bible, that Jesus Christ is God* *Genesis 1:1* 1 In the beginning *God* created the heavens and the earth. *John 1:1* *The Word Became Flesh* 1 In the beginning was *the Word* , and *the Word was with God* , and *the Word was God.* *Acts 7:30-32* 30 “Forty years later, *a Messenger* appeared to him in the flames of a burning bush in the desert of Mount Sinai. 31 Moses was surprised when he saw this. As he went closer to look at the bush, *the voice of the Lord said to him, 32 ‘I am the God of your ancestors-the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.’ Moses began to tremble and didn’t dare to look at the bush.* *Acts 7:35* 35 “This is the Moses whom the Israelites rejected by saying, ‘Who made you our ruler and judge?’ *This is the one God sent to free them and to rule them with the help of the Messenger* who appeared to him in the bush. *Exode 3;14-15* 14 And God said to Moses, *“I AM WHO I AM.”* And He said, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, *‘I AM has sent me to you.’ ”* 15 Moreover *God* said to Moses, *“Thus you shall say to the children of Israel: ‘The Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you.* This is My name forever, and this is My memorial to all generations.’ *John 8:58* 58 Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, *I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.”* *Isaiah 7:14* 14 So *the Lord himself will give you this sign:* A virgin will become pregnant and give birth to a son, and she will name him *Immanuel [God Is With Us].* *Isaiah 9:6* 6 *A child will be born for us.* A son will be given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. *He will be named:* *Wonderful Counselor,* *Mighty God,* *Everlasting Father,* *Prince of Peace.* *Jeremiah 23:5-6* 5 Behold, the days come, *saith the Lord,* that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth. 6 In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and *this is his name whereby he shall be called, The Lord our righteousness.* *Luke 2;11* 11 For there is born to you this day in the city of David *a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.* *John 3:16* 16 *God* loved the world this way: *He gave his only Son so that everyone who believes in him will not die but will have eternal life.* *John 5:20* 20 *The Father* loves *the Son* and shows him everything he is doing. *The Father will show him even greater things to do than these things* so that you will be amazed. *John 5:17-18* 17 In his defense *Jesus* said to them, *“My Father is always at his work to this very day, and I too am working.”* 18 For this reason they tried all the more to kill him; not only was he breaking the Sabbath, but *he was even calling God his own Father,* making *himself equal with God.* *John 9:35-38* 35 *Jesus* heard that they had thrown him out, and when he found him, he said, *“Do you believe in the Son of Man?”* 36 “Who is he, sir?” the man asked. “Tell me so that I may believe in him.” 37 Jesus said, *“You have now seen him;* in fact, *he is the one speaking with you.”* 38 Then the man said, *“Lord* , I believe,” *and he worshiped him.* *John 20:28* 28 And *Thomas* answered and said *unto him, My Lord and my God.* *Acts 10:34-36* 34 Then *Peter* opened his mouth and said: “In truth I perceive that *God* shows no partiality. 35 But in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness *is accepted by Him. 36 The word which God sent to the children of Israel, preaching peace through Jesus Christ-He is Lord of all-* *Acts 20:28* 28 Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among which *the Holy Spirit* has made you overseers, to shepherd *the church of God* which *He purchased with His own blood.* *Philippians 2:5-6* 5 Have the same attitude that *Christ Jesus* had. 6 Although *he was in the form of God and equal with God,* he did not take advantage *of this equality.* *1 Timothy 3:16* 16 And without controversy *great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels,* preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, *received up into glory.* *Titus 2;13* 13 At the same time we can expect what we hope for- *the appearance of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ.* *Hebrews 1:8-10* 8 *But God said about his Son,* *“Your throne, O God, is forever and ever.* The scepter in your kingdom is a scepter for justice. 9 You have loved what is right and hated what is wrong. That is why *God, your God,* anointed you, rather than your companions, with the oil of joy.” 10 *God also said,* *“Lord, in the beginning you laid the foundation of the earth.* With your own hands *you made the heavens.* *Colossians 1:14-20* 14 in whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: 15 *who is the image of the invisible God,* the firstborn of every creature: 16 *for by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth,* visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: *all things were created by him, and for him:* 17 and he is before all things, and by him all things consist. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. 19 For it pleased the Father that *in him should all fulness dwell;* 20 and, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven. *Revelation 1:8* 8 *“I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,” says the Lord,* “who is and who was and who is to come, *the Almighty.”* *Revelation 22:12-13* *Jesus Testifies to the Churches* 12 “And behold, *I am* coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work. 13 *I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.”* *Revelation 21:6-7* 6 And *He* said to me, *“It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End.* I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts. 7 He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and *I will be his God and he shall be My son.*

As a Muslim, I cannot accept the belief that Jesus is God because he was a human being and his miraculous birth without a father. In the New Testament of the Bible, there are verses that suggest Jesus' divinity, such as when he said, "I and the Father are one" and "Before Abraham was born, I am." However, these statements can be interpreted differently by Muslims. When Jesus said, "I and the Father are one," Muslims understand this to mean unity in purpose, not unity in essence or nature. Similarly, when Jesus said, "Before Abraham was born, I am," Muslims see this as emphasizing his pre-existence and special status as a prophet, not as a claim to divinity. While there are instances in the New Testament where people worshiped Jesus and he accepted their worship, Muslims believe that worship should be reserved for Allah alone. Jesus, as a prophet and servant of God, called people to worship God and did not claim divinity for himself. In conclusion, Muslims believe that Jesus was a great prophet and messenger of God, born miraculously without a father. They do not accept the belief that Jesus is God incarnate or part of a divine Trinity, as they adhere to a strict monotheistic belief in the oneness of God.

Way to completely misrepresent secularism. It's the indifference to religiosity. It leaves room for students to choose their own religion, or none at all. You could have the most pure religion ever but teaching it in schools while leaving others out is just toxic and asking for abuse. Secular is the only way forward, leave religion at home.

The argument is not about teaching religion in public schools. The argument is about the government mandating a specific religion being taught, and others being excluded. The USA constitution is quite clear. The government of the USA cannot "establish" a religion. There's nothing wrong with having a religious studies class in schools. There is something wrong with making it a Christian studies class. I'll also point out that Western civilization owes much of it's culture to the ancient Greeks and Romans, who were definitely not Christian. In fact, a lot of Christianity is just cribbed from those sources. So if you're going to open up schools to relgious instruction, you have to allow all religions to join in. That includes Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, Bhuddism, Confucianism, Sikhism, etc. Pardon me for saying, but I'm not sure that's what you want.

What if ... you think you are serving God, but in reality, Satan has taken over the church. Would it be harmful then? Yeah. So how would one know? Well, if the church is hurting God's children, if it is preaching hate and intolerance of God's children, if the teachings drive one group of people against another group of God's children ... that would be a sign that it no longer serves God's will. But you can't serve God and be against His children. And His children are Christians, Muslims, Hindu, Atheist, you name it. So yes, put up the 10 Commandments (send a copy to Trump please). And then add the Koran and all the other holy books, and teach tolerance and love. That would be fantastic.

What is the opposite of secularism-sacred. What you think is sacred and what I think is sacred are probably two very different concepts, and we are both supposedly christian. Secularism is something that does not promote any type of religious belief, that is why it is called secular. You wish to label secularism as a religious belief which it is not. A pride flag is not an imposition of one's worldview. It's a rejection of the imposition of one specific type of ideas on others. Christian nationalists want to impose their ideology on others in a way that ends up manifesting as the government dictating what should be personal moral decisions. A pride flag doesn't tell people what to do, it tells people it's ok to make your own choice. Also, if you were arguing that teachers should be able to display bibles in classrooms then the analogy to a pride flag would be an apt one, but what you are arguing is that the government should mandate biblical ideas to be included in schools. That goes beyond allowing teachers to express their personal views, and instead enforces one view. The government shoudl have no say in what people believe and what goes on in people's bedrooms, as long as the people involved are consenting adults. You can personally dislike it, but using the government to impose your worldview goes against the fundamental liberties that underpin western democracy.

This fairly clearly explains how it is not possible to be neutral, and then flip the script and says okay they could be neutral. ??? How did you trick yourself? If you claim you are not allowing any religion in, you are drinking at the secular bar which is a religion. Students should learn in a Christian Nation that Christ is/should be the center of all of our life

We are not a "Christian Nation" but are majority Christian. To say we are is to reject the very founding of our country. They intentionally left God out of the Constitution and wanted a secular nation. Try reading the Federalist Papers which was used to help to get the Constitution ratified. The Constitution is the law of the land not the Declaration of Independence. The Bill of Rights allows for freedom of religion but prohibits the creation of a National religion. This freedom of religion allows a citizen to follow any religion or no religion at all. This is one of the greatest things about this country. By the way it would not be unconstitutional to prohibit the display of the Pride Flag or any other display in a classroom as that is within the purview of the rights of the state.

@@keven1956 Being secular is anti- Christian - it is a religion that tries to remove God from everything - our local Christian school focuses on the basics, reading, writing, and arithmetic - Christ is central to all of them and every square inch of this world. most of our founding fathers did not want the Government to pick a particular denomination and wanted freedom from the government stopping or inhibiting religion. Secularism is anti- Christian - likely anti other religions

The United States Constitution is entirely atheist: without god. This was deliberate. Dummies wanted to put "Jehovah" or "Jesus the Christ" into the preamble, but smarter people won the day.

    1) Secularism is not a religion and is not taught Unless of course unless you want to say the US Constitution is teaching secularism- which I know you don't 2) Requiring the Bible and 10 commandment in every classroom is forcing one man's (Walter's) religion on the entire public school population in the state of Oklahoma What if someone's "world view" more closely aligns with the tenants of the satanic temple or the muslim religion is it allowed to post and teach that? What about different brands of Christianity some say "love thy neighbor" means everyone LGBTQ included others believe LGBTQ people should be unalived. 3) Oklahoma wants EVERY teacher teaching from the bible. That doesn't even make sense. Algebra? Physical Education. My world history class taught about Jesus (and other religions i presume- it's been a long time) There are places for it such as world religions keep it there. 4) do you really want an atheist teaching from the bible. Do you want a science teacher explain how there is no evidence of the great flood. A biology teacher explaining how snakes can't possibly talk. An ethics teacher talking about how slavery is presented in the Bible? There are so many places to have your child taught your own personal brand of religion why would you want it taught by teachers can't possibly all have the same beliefs as you?

I don't really think you understand what secular means. being gay is not a religion, and hanging a gay pride flag is not comprable to incorperating particular religious paraphanalia into curriculum. religion in public schools buy and large denies the autonomy and freewill of parents and students, it is taking advantage of a lapse in autonomy that we all know takes place from about birth to age 18. your god wants people to freely choose the path to rightousness, not be forced and manipulated into it by other people. I see this as an anti-christian position you are taking.

God yes. That’s why all religions should be taught so children can see and make up their own minds. Strictly speaking, if they never encounter anything other than what they are raised in, then their belief goes untested and stays weak.

They aren’t bring God, though. They are bringing one specific version of a religious text that makes claims about God. The Bible is not God, that’s idolatry. The o my reason some religious people want it in schools is because they are afraid. They are afraid because their faith is actually weak, they don’t fully trust God and so feel the need to control other people.

Imagine what it has to say, that a random person destroyed the teachings of Jesus in a matter of months. A person without divine powers and wisdom of God. And to say that this person defeated someone and the teachings of a divine being and chosen by Allah. So, Paul a simple man debunk a divine person in a short time. Islamic logic.

Atheist here. As an atheist and generally neutral person who only cares about objective reality.. my word is gospel.. all the puns intended. On this issue, the judge (me) declares a guilty verdict! The idea of "gender" without any biological implications is absurd and straight up not real. It's an idea that would require to be heavily protected from reality in order to survive. In terms of sports competitions, we got a clear problem at our hands when it comes to trans athletes. Hormone replacement therapy can't transform anybody from a man to a woman or vice versa, that's absurd. Regular male athletes on trt aren't competing in the super-male division, they're still just men. For this issue, trans women on hrt can be viewed as deliberately weakened men, while trans men would be enhanced women.. just like many male athletes for example are already enhanced men. It's apparent that the sum of physical weakening of the trans women isn't actually enough to level the playing field. Besides that it would be wrong to further level the playing field in general. Why? Because that would be the exact same as enhancing a random man to the point where he can compete in the olympics. Makes no sense. That should help people further understand why trans athletes have no business competing. I personally view trans athletes competing as a crime. It's a crime to allow that to happen.
